Supported by a good academic atmosphere in the campus, lecturers of URP-SP are actively involved and engaged in several research and community services. The experiences and results from these activities could contribute to enrich teaching materials taught by the respective lecturers. In addition, teaching staff of URP-SP are quite active in scientific seminars and other scientific events either as speakers or participants in national and international level. In the national level, several teaching staff of URP-SP already become members of Indonesian Professional Planner Association (Ikatan Ahli Perencana or IAP, more information at http://www.iap.or.id) and also Indonesian Planning School Association (ASPI or Asosiasi Sekolah Perencanaan Indonesia). This participations provide opportunity to broaden the academic network between URP-SP teaching staff and lecturers from different universities and professionals, and keep the teaching staff updated with current issues and technology in planning field, which can be used to improve teaching materials.
