Overview
The growing need for professional urban and regional planner who has competence in technical matters stimulate the idea to open an undergraduate program in urban and regional planning, and since 2003 Urban and Regional Planning Study Program (URP-SP) was officially opened under the Department of Architecture and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
The aim of the undergraduate program in Urban and Regional Planning is to create planners who can perceive and develop alternative views on how to design a city for the future with the understanding on how the urban or regional system works.
To have a better understanding of urban and regional issues, students are facilitated with Spatial Basic, Data Analysis and Planning Studio class (Studio Dasar Keruangan, Studio Analisis Data dan Studio Perencanaan), which aim to help students better understand and analyze urban and regional areas and the components within.

Graduated student of this program will award the degree title with Sarjana Perencanaan Wilayah dan Kota (S.PWK.) since early 2018; previously Sarjana Teknik (S.T.) after an academic period of 4 years, comprised of 8 semesters

Graduates of urban and regional planning study program are expected to:
